level, unless otherwise stated. Ideally you will have a minimum of 1 year
experience for getting the maximum from these workshops. To book any of these workshops by post* please send a cheque for the

Workshops are £25 each. All workshops are held at 'The Place, 17 Dukes Road, London WC1 (near Euston Station) A workshop dedicated to the Tabla
Solo. Rhythms, technique and choregraphy will all be part of this workshop.
A handout with the Choreography and break down of the rhythms will be
given. The CD Tabla Tastic by Guy Schalom with the with the music of the
choreography, the different rhythms and other great Tabla solos will be
available to buy at the workshop (£12). If ever there was an essential
workshop for Belly dancers - this is it! The Different Styles of Egyptian Belly Dance Explore the 3 main styles of Egyptian Belly Dance,
‘Oriental’, ‘Saiidi’ and ‘Baladi’.
The difference between them, how to recognise them in the music, which
steps, moves and costumes characterise them.
A comprehensive workshop for all students who want
to learn how to play sagat (finger cymbals / zills) and dance while playing.
You will learn key Sagat rhythms and a choreography. You will need a set
Sagat for this workshop (please bring spares too if you have them). A
handout with Sagat Rhythms and the choreography will be given.
